Mr. James Santana, Northern Valley Regional High School District Superintendent, is proud to announce that both of the high schools in the Northern Valley Regional High School District have earned statewide certifications that validate their readiness for the future of education.
The two high schools, Northern Valley Demarest and Northern Valley Old Tappan, are among approximately 60 schools to become “Future Ready” certified across the state. So far, only about twenty districts have had their schools certified among thirty-nine districts that have committed to the program. Only seven schools in four districts in Bergen County earned the certification.
The Future Ready - NJ certification program is a partnership of the New Jersey Department of Education, New Jersey School Boards Association, and New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). The process requires schools to submit evidence of exemplary practices in three categories: leadership, education and classroom practices; and technology support and services.
The Northern Valley Regional High Schools continues to receive accolades for their 1:1 learning technology program, which provides a MacBook Air laptop to each student. The professional development programs that the school district continues with its teachers have also been recognized by the New Jersey Educational Computing Consortium as well as EdSurge, both leading organizations in technology in schools.
