“Saturday on that Dirt Road” was Seoís creative submission to the writing themes: Unexpected Answers and Creating Solutions.
The contest is sponsored by The National Association for Gifted Children, The National Association for Gifted Children Creativity Network, the Torrance Center for Creativity and Talent Development, the Future Problem Solving Program International, Ignite Creative Learning Studio, The Center for the Gifted, and Scholastic Testing Service, Inc.
Seoís piece, composed when she was a 7th grader, won in the 6th-8th grade category based on the following criteria: Originality, Plot Development, Character Development, Cohesiveness and Fluidity, and Organization. “Saturday on that Dirt Road” will be published in the third annual Torrance Legacy Creative Writing Awards Collection.
