The Sibling Support Group is dedicated to siblings of children with autism.
The goals of the group are
· to create a safe environment for siblings to express their concerns, frustrations and triumphs
· to provide tools needed to successfully interact with their siblings with autism
· to provide exercises that help in understanding the perspective of an individual with autism
· to provide siblings with a network of other children who share similar experiences.
The group uses a variety of art and play techniques to meet these goals while insuring that the
each child is having fun and motivated to interact.
Children who attend the groups range in ages from 5-13. A teenage group is being
planned for the future.
