NVD Announces Students Take Spanish Exam

NVD Spanish Exam

Mr. Jonathan Gray, Spanish teacher; Mr. Jim Buoye, World Language Supervisor; and Dr. Timothy Gouraige, Principal of Northern Valley Regional High School at Demarest are proud to announce that in April, fifty-two of Señor Gray’s Spanish students took the National Spanish Exam (http://www.nationalspanishexam.org/) whose mission is to recognize student achievement and to promote language proficiency in the study of Spanish. Competing with over 32,000 students across the country, NVD students fared quite well with 41 out of 52 students receiving awards.

Renee Choi, Eunice Chong, Adam Essafi, Jacqueline Kim, Lauren Lee, Julianna Lee, Ashley Liang, Elisa Lipkin, Gabriel Matos, Ori Slotky, Katie Vinson and Helen Zhu earned Silver medals for scoring between the 85th and 94th percentiles. For scoring from the 75th through 84th percentiles, Bronze medals were earned by Dan Kim, Eliana Lester, Stephanie McDermott, Naomi Meininger, Connor Strauss, Claudia Tang and Joseph Yoon. Additionally 22 students earned Honorable Mention.
