NORTHERN VALLEY REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT IS ONE OF FOUR DISTRICTS IN THE STATE TO ACHIEVE THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF “FUTURE READINESS”
Northern Valley Regional High School District has been recognized for providing students with meaningful, technology-rich learning environments that better prepare them for life in a digital society and futuristic workforce.
On October 22, 2019, the Northern Valley Regional High School District was awarded the highest level of “future readiness” by Future Ready Schools - New Jersey (FRS-NJ). The “Silver District Distinction” award is reserved for districts that have demonstrated a commitment to providing students with the technology-rich environments that are meaningful, and that prepare them to be engaged and successful members in an ever-evolving digital society and workforce. Northern Valley Regional High School District is one of just four districts in the state that have achieved this designation.
The FRS-NJ certification program was developed collaboratively by the New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE), the New Jersey School Boards Association (NJSBA), and the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT). The certification process requires the development of a comprehensive portfolio that showcases best practices with regard to technology infrastructure, innovative teaching practices, and progressive educational leadership. This year, over 260 schools from 72 districts across New Jersey engaged in this application process.
“This recognition is a testament to the efforts of our teachers, our administrative team, our technology department, our supportive Board of Education and community,” explained Northern Valley Superintendent, James Santana. “One of our goals is to personalize our students’ learning experiences; with appropriate digital tools, we can more effectively and efficiently achieve it.”
Northern Valley Regional High School District is a nationally recognized school of excellence located in northeastern Bergen County that serves students of all abilities from ages 3 - 21.
