The Northern Valley Regional High School District conducted lead testing of all water fountains and kitchen faucets in the Northern Valley Demarest and Northern Valley Old Tappan school buildings as per State Regulations on April 22, 2017. The district received the test results on May 8, 2017.
Following is a summary of those results.
Samples that indicated lead levels about the Action Level of 15.5 ppb were taken out of service. As per State requirements these locations will be re-tested. The district will conduct remediation in accordance with the current State Regulations.
Administration Building
4 drinking water outlets were tested and all were below the lead action level.
Northern Valley at Demarest HS
46 drinking water outlets were tested, 37 tested below the Action level, 9 locations exhibited results above the action level.
Northern Valley at Old Tappan HS
51 drinking water outlets were tested, 45 tested below the Action level, 6 locations exhibited results above the action level.
