DUI Simulation for Driver Education at NVD

Mr. Don Merritts, Faculty Driving Instructor, Mr. Greg Butler, Supervisor and Dr. Timothy Gouraige, Principal at Northern Valley Regional High School at Demarest, announced that continuing with the goal of providing appropriate substance awareness education, Northern Valley Demarest staff in conjunction with the Demarest Police Department conducted a driving under the influence simulation for Driver Education students.

Students were asked to walk a straight line while wearing vision-impaired goggles designed to create the effect of impaired vision under the supervision of the Demarest Police Department and the Northern Valley Demarest Department of Physical Education, Health, and Driver Education. The DUI Simulation program is part of Northern Valley Regional High School at Demarest’s commitment to educate students on the dangers and ramifications of substance use.
