Japanese classes competed in the annual "Tigers of Money" (Shark Tank) competition, inventing & pitching a product/service that solves an environmental issue. Teacher and student "Tigers" selected senior John Abante, and juniors Ryotaro Akiyama, Skye Lee, and Jada Lin as winners.

Mrs. Lee's NVD Korean 3 explored the Korean tradition of calligraphy. Students learned about the preface as a proclamation of Hangul’s purpose. Engaging in calligraphy by writing deepened their appreciation for Korea’s cultural heritage Hangul's thoughtful design. #NVDpride

Thank you to Peter Miele, Senior Project Leader at Susquehanna National Heritage Area and former President and Executive Director at the Seminary Ridge Museum and Education Center, and to the knowledgeable staff at the Palisades Interstate Park Commission for coming to speak to our AP Language and Composition students who are currently working on monument projects.
Students in Mrs. Bell's AP World History class presented their "Autopsy of an Empire" projects. Students had to explain the height of the empire and how it fell, and then write up an "autopsy report" about how the empire died. Students then presented their findings to the class!
Business teacher Mrs. Petrella had Ms. Alisa Feiner, a VP of New Business at PatientPoint, come speak to her Marketing 2 classes about sales and selling to coincide with the unit on personal selling in class!
Demarest Alumni Quinn Postman visited Ms. Miano’s Journalism classes. Quinn is studying Journalism at Syracuse and writes for their paper The Daily Orange. He graduated from NVD in 2023 and was an editor in chief of The Northern Star.

NVD’s Japan Club celebrated Japan's Labor Thanksgiving Day holiday by honoring first responders for their contributions and hard work. In addition to a baked goods donation to the Demarest Police Department, they will be donating 50% of the proceeds to Valley Hospital! #NVDpride
